My Personal Life Dreams: Writing Stories

Hi everyone! Lola here!

We're nearing the end of my life dreams as we venture more and more into the past.
Before I get into it, remember that you can talk about your own life dreams here. I'll be featuring some comments in a later post.

Today's story: My dream of becoming an author... (past)

I've been getting back into story-writing a bit, but I've lost the creativity I once had...

The Birth Of My Dream

When I was young, I used to love writing stories. I loved opening up a blank Word page and just type away or get a big block of sheets just waiting to be filled up.

I had this story that I would write up and bring to school called "Bunny and Rosie". It was about two rabbits who fell in love and there were four mini-stories. The characters were based on some toys I had.
I'd staple a few A5 sheets together and write in them, leaving some space for drawings. Then, I'd read the stories to my classmates and add these little books to our library shelves. I always felt proud when someone would take out one of my mini-books during reading time. I felt that people cared about what I dd.
After I read four stories, people asked me for more, but I never did make any more. I did, on the other hand, make a mini theatre show about it, which I think I mentioned before. This was two years later, and half the class participated. That's my theatrical side popping up for just a second, hehe.

I also made plenty of other stories. There was one in particular about a girl who, at the start of the novel, found out she had magical powers and was actually an elf (based on dreams I often had). But I did have a flaw. Like I said, I'd open up a blank Word sheet or use a new block of paper... I'd start up a story but I'd never finish it. I don't know how many times I rewrote the elf story from scratch. I only finished the Bunny and Rosie books because they were small, but I also wanted to write some long books.

I was very into fantasy. I read Harry Potter, Eragon, The Hobbit, I'd buy books with mini-stories in them about dragons and elves and goblins. I'd seen things like The Last Unicorn and Mermaid Melody (anime) and I was fascinated about these creatures.

Sadly, the computer I wrote all my stories on got dropped by my mum and I lost everything. The hard drive was ruined, so I can't even look back on what I wrote.
On the other hand, I got another computer at 11, so I still have stories from then, thank goodness.

When I moved to Italy, things changed. I got teased a lot and hardly had any friends because I was English and didn't speak Italian that well. I started to waste time on a site called Neopets and would spend all day on the internet. I stopped reading. I stopped writing. I was just deadening my brain.

Thankfully, I moved not long after, returning to France. There, I'd write up this story (that was actually based on Neopets and that I'd like to finish someday and send to them, because the idea wasn't that bad) during English lessons, which were a bore for me. I never quite finished it, but I look back to it at times and I really think I should finish it. It's an awesome story, haha.

After that, I got into drawing and stated creating comics, which is all explained in my previous post. I never got into writing like before again.

My Dream's Impact On Me Today

This dream has pretty much died out, for now. I've recently been trying to just sit down and write, but it's not the same.
I remember, about a year ago, I tried writing out a story, and it started to turn into a story about an angry feminist with issues (*coughcough*). I scared myself when I re-read it.

I'm currently going through exams, but after that, I'm going to try and sit down to write again. I do miss it...

Have you ever written a story? Perhaps you'd like to become an author someday?
Comment below and share your story. ^^

Thanks for reading; keep on dreaming! <3

  1. It sounds like a fantastic dream to have when your young, but its sad that you lost your earliest work, and got bullied for being different, but I can tell you do have some traces of your writing talent left since we tend to come up with some good ideas together story wise.
