Hi everyone! Lola here!
I thought about making a Dreams Update post yesterday, but I decided to wait until today for a particular reason (I promise I didn't forget :P).
I know you guys prefer my posts where I give tips, but I don't have many ideas. I've already said a lot of stuff in my older posts. That's why it would be a great idea if you guys could ask me questions so I can make posts featuring them (and crediting you, if you want me to, of course).
Go ahead and ask a question in the comments if you have one. ^^
So...
Three days ago, I went job-hunting. I gave resumes to McDonald's restaurants and hotels. I really hoped I'd get called back at a hotel. It would be a great place to meet and interact with lots of foreign people!
And it happened!
I got called back by a hotel yesterday and went to see the manager. I'll be getting another call today to see if I get the job I wanted, but I mustn't get high hopes. There's a chance they might not actually need me anymore.
For now, I'm sitting here with my phone next to me, just waiting for that call. I'm not going to allow myself to leave that phone for even a minute! I can't miss this call.
I'll keep you guys updated on that! In the meantime...
Your turn to share! What was your first job? Did you enjoy it? If you haven't had a job yet, what would you like to try out for?
Comment below with your story and give this blog a +1 if you enjoy it! ^^
Thanks for reading; keep on dreaming!

When it comes to inspiration and motivation, do your friends help you and which people do you look up to alot?
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Sorry for my recent absence, I've been looking for jobs!
Anyway, I've received another question and will be answering it in this post!
But before I do that, I'd like to inform you guys that I've opened up my Facebook account again! I'll be logged in on Saturdays, but purely for promotion (type in "Lola Ferricks" to find my profile, page and group!).
Also, if you have any questions or something you'd like me to help you with, to help with your life goals, don't hesitate to ask. ^^
Here we go!
Another interesting question asked by +Danny Jaggers.
Like everyone else, I can get inspired, motivated or completely crushed by people around me. That's what being human is all about! Living in solidarity or in an individualist society... like ours! :')
Anyway.
It's always inspiring to hear about projects my friends do, especially if they're in similar fields to mine. If they're very good at it, it can make me motivated, because if they can do it, why couldn't I?
I find it's one of the reasons (amidst lots of others) why you should try and find the best entourage in your everyday life. One person can make you feel either inspired or sh***y for the rest of the day (or week, or month... or year... or lifetime). ._.
As a child, I was easily inspired by what I saw on TV or friends around me.
For example, I wrote stories a lot. One day I saw a Simpsons episode where Marge decides to write a book. It inspired me so much I started to write even more!
I like to look at the technical side of artists. It makes me admire their work even more! I do that with celebrities, too (although, at times, there's nothing there to actually admire). It reminds me how much their work needs appreciating, because of all the effort put into it. This is how I get inspired.
Here's a list of well-known people who have inspired me in my recent dreams:
There are others, but these are all the people I want to meet and take lessons with and pay them in hugs. I love them all!
Your turn to share! Are you easily inspired? What do you do to motivate yourself? Any big influences? Which ones?
Thanks for reading; keep on dreaming!

Dream Updates: Decisions, decisions...
Hi everyone! Lola here!
I was supposed to make a post based on another question I received, but I've decided to post a dream update today. Stuff keeps happening and this blog helps me see things more clearly.
But I'm still accepting questions about dreams/goals, so write one down in the comments, if you have one (if you'd like tips or are just curious about something). ^^
So...
If you didn't know, my mum was in Italy for the last two weeks, and she came back last night.
This morning, I got up at 11:30am and made my way to the kitchen to make myself some coffee.
Now, my mum isn't really one to say "good morning" and talk about things calmly. Like me, she's always stressed, nervous... but more so. And it shows.
She started by saying she didn't want to argue. Then she kind of shouted the rest.
She told me nothing new, really. I'm a spoilt brat and I need to get a job to find out how tough life can really get.
I'm not saying she's wrong. I know I've been spoiled as a child and teenager. I also know that I've lead a pretty comfortable life, nearly always getting what I wanted, but also accepting when I couldn't receive something I wanted, but that was rare. That's something my dad taught me as I grew up. He might have got me lots of material, but I still grew up with limits, keeping me from being completely spoiled and thinking the world owed me everything.
Anyway, I got a bit upset after she spoke to me. Firt of all, I don't like being lectured right after I get up, I have a short temper in the morning, haha.
But there's something she said that got me confused, and then I suddenly realized something...
She told me that I had to decide, to get a Summer job and then see if I'll start studying again.
Well, that's odd. My dad said I wouldn't get another chance, and now my mum's telling me I might go back to Uni.
After a few minutes thinking this over in my room, I suddenly thought: "Hold on. This is my future. I should know if I'm ready to study again or if I want to take a job. So why am I waiting for my parents to decide for me?"
That's my problem. I'm still very dependent of my parents.
For example, while my mum was in Italy, I had her car all for myself. I decided I wanted to see a friend, but (get this) I actually asked my dad for permission to go out.
Did I mention I'm 19 years old with a driving licence and car (while she was away)?
Anyway, that shows how much I listen to my parents and take their word for gospel. I grew up like that, but this shows that I am indeed still pretty immature, as I said in a previous post, because I can't seem to take my own decisions, and wait for my parents to do that for me.
So, what am I going to do?
Well, I've got until September to decide. My mum said she's going to help me find a job, so I'll go for that, for now. If I get to start something some time in August, it might help me make up my mind. Am I up for entering adult life and do what I can with my Baccalauréat (A Levels) and three languages? Or do I prefer getting a diploma first and getting a higher quality job?
I guess the answer must be easy to see, for you. The latter would, of course, be a better solution But, what if it's just like last year? What if I just want to do something else to do with art again, during the year, and blow the whole thing?
Hah. Me and my free will. Come on, Lola. Free will is for idiots who question things too much. There's no place in this world for those people, so don't be one of them
I have to stop over-thinking. I have to stop trying to be free. I must surrender to the money system and become just another work-to-death chump.
I honestly have no idea what I want to do. Suddenly, I realize how hard it is to decide something for myself. Start working without a diploma and try my best? Or go back to University and risk blowing it again?
Let's just see how the next few days go...
Your turn to share! Have you ever had to make any hard decisions in your life? Did you regret it or not? Share your story below. :3

Dream Updates: Small Obstacles; Big Waste Of Time.
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Before I start, I'd just like to remind you that if you'd like me to make more posts on making your dreams come true, just post a question in the comments and I'll gladly make a post on it. ^^
Procrastination...
We all know that word, right? I do it a lot. And it's a real problem when you have life-long goals to reach.
Well, today I decided not to procrastinate.
My dad went to a meeting for this job, so I'd decided, once he told me about that, to make a video while he was gone.
Well, I failed. I'm really angry, right now, to be honest. I wanted a new Youtube video up by tomorrow, make it a weekend thing. People would get home on Friday evening and chill out to some crazy Frenchie content.
My dad is a technician. He specializes in computers and has worked with some major companies, whenever they had problems.
Well, since he wasn't there to help me record audio (because this video will be in the form of a song), I had to do it myself.
I don't know why, but the audio wouldn't work. I've seen my dad fix these problems when he helped me with similar problems, so I did what I could, but nothing made it work.
As a result, he came back home as I tried to figure out the problem and I went to my room and started crying with anger. If I make videos in the presence of my parents, they'll have a go at me for wasting my time, or as my dad says, "finding a diversion from reality".
Basically, I won't have a video up for tomorrow, and it really really annoys me. I can't ask my dad to help me with the audio now, because of what I've just said above, and I certainly won't be able to do anything tomorrow, because my mum is coming back from Italy and will get all dramatic about my current situation.
I often think to myself that Youtube is holding me back from doing stuff, but I need to make at least something, once in a while, of which I can actually be proud of. Because, to be honest, I feel it's all I really know how to do.
I guess I'll just have to postpone the video.. as I always do.
Your turn to share! Have you ever had small obstacles get in the way of reaching your goal? What kind? Did you make it, in the end?

Dream Updates: My first job...?
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Time for some more dream updates!
Today, I'm going to start hunting for a job!
Erm... like the title says... I've never had a job. I had a tiny little translation work, but that was only once and something I did at home.
Otherwise, I've never really had a job where I get up everyday and drive to work.
To be honest, I'm lucky to be able to speak three languages. But, in France, if you don't have a diploma and no experience, it's very hard to get a job, no matter what your skills are.
So, I'mma start small and slowly gain some experience. I live in the countryside, where there's plenty of manual work to do, and my dad told me about this job consisting in harvesting grapes in September. It's not much, but it's a start, and it'll give me a taste of what working is like. After that, I'd like to try and get a job translating, since, although I didn't make the year, I still took lessons in translating.
In the meantime, I'm going to keep working on Youtube videos and also try to get back into story-writing. It'd do me some good, and if I manage to complete a story, I'm going to see if I can publish it. My imagination's a bit rusty, but it sure feels good to get into old habits. I used to write all the time.
So yeah, that's just about it, for now!
Although, if you or someone you know needs a job translating English/French or vice versa, go ahead and ask, haha. :P

Can achieving one's dreams/goals change you as a person?
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Today, I'll be answering a very interesting question asked by ChaoticDan.
If you have any questions you'd like me to answer in a blog post, just post them in the comments. ^^
Dan's question:
"When it comes to achieving your goals, do you fear that it could change you as a person?"
This is more a personal question than one that asks for advice, but I think it's too interesting to ignore. :P
Well, Dan, I think that the answer is that it depends on the dream you want to achieve.
But yes. In general, I think that accomplishing a dream can change who you are.
In my case, I want to either become an actor, a Youtuber and, later on, buy a huge piece of land to leave untouched and let nature take over once more, in which I can have a small house and live in peace for the rest of my life.
I think that the biggest risk is if I do become a successful actor or Youtuber. It's very easy to just become an obnoxious egocentric bastard who thinks they're better than everyone else. I've actually been through that myself, when I did a few of my video projects. I become very caught up in my project and tend to forget about the people helping me, sometimes just telling them what to do. But once my projects are over, I'm back to normal, haha.
That's why I'm hoping that this blog might help me stay sane (or as sane as I can get). Maybe, if I look back on this, I might realize what I'm becoming and what I was before.
For now, the plan I mentioned above is the plan I want to go through... but maybe becoming an actor or Youtuber will change that. Especially becoming an actor, because I don't think that, as a Youtuber, I'd do it forever. With an acting career, you can still keep going, and I might be tempted to, in the end. I might have forgotten all about my future Eco-friendly plans and just keep working on my career.
Nothing always goes quite a planned. ;)
Your turn to share! What's your plan for the future? If it goes well, do you think it could change you as a person? If so, in what way?
Feel free to share this post, I'd really appreciate it. :)

Ask a question!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Wow, two posts in one day! I'm on a roll! :P
I'd like to start being active daily again, but it's not easy finding a subject to talk about on the topic of life dreams and goals.
If you have any particular questions on this topic, don't hesitate to ask in the comments!
I'd be glad to make a post as a reply. It might help other people, too. :3
And I promise it won't be as dry as yesterday's post. I just needed to make a wake-up call for people (including myself) and went a bit far. But, hey, at least it was informative, right? :'D
That's all for now. :)
Otherwise, my dad and I are still trying to take in the fact that I'm no longer a Uni student!
Just wait until my mum finds out about this... :')
Thanks for reading; keep on dreaming!

Dream Updates: Now Officially Unemployed!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Wow. What a day...
Well, as you might have guessed from yesterday's post and today's title... I failed at University.
To be honest, it's kind of a relief. After months of wondering, I finally know where I stand and can finally start to get organised.
I had to go to University with my dad, this morning, to see if I would pass into the second year or not. We wanted to be sure.
You can imagine how grim the ride back was. I think my dad is more upset than me about the situation. He's convinced I'll end up working in an office or factory for the next 40 years. What do you guys think? Is he right? I know he can be quite pessimistic, but he's just trying to be realistic, really.
Well, it feels really weird calling myself unemployed now, instead of a student on holiday.
I am no longer a student. I am no longer on Summer holiday. I will not be going back to school in September.
I'm starting to look for jobs, now.
I've never had a job. I've never received a paycheck (well, I did a tiny home job translating something, but I wasn't skilled enough because it was mostly technical words. I was paid anyway, though, which was really nice of the guy). I have no idea what to expect when I do get one.
The problem is that I'm pretty scared I won't be up to it, even if it requires no qualifications or experience.
I'm not a very self-confident person, but I'm getting there. I have to force myself to try something. It might even help me feel more confident.
In any case, I'm off for a scary yet interesting adventure, me thinks! That's one small step for Lola. :P
I'll keep you guys posted!
Your turn to share! Where are you currently, dream-wise? Have you started taking small steps? If not, are you planning to do so, soon? Share your story! ^-^

Your Big Dream Starts Now!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
You guys seem to enjoy the posts in which I offer a bit of advice, so I'll be making these now and then, along with my personal dream updates!
If you have a particular request for dream advice, a question, or would just like my opinion on a certain subject (revolving around dreams and goals, of course!) comment below and I'll see if I can give you a short reply or even make an entire post on it, if I think it needs more depth. ;)
All around us, we see people with regrets. Of all ages. But I'm talking, here, about people in their 30s/40s/50s or even more.
One of the biggest regrets a person can have is to not have followed their dream and often find themselves having to go to some hateful job everyday and not even getting a high pay for it.
People tend to call this a midlife crisis.
This is my biggest fear in life.
As you guys know, I'm one to dream big. In my previous posts, I've talked about old and present dreams of mine, and a lot of them were... well, pretty far-fetched, really.
But one thing I know, is that I don't want to realize, in my 40s or 50s that it's too late and I should have acted sooner to make my dreams come true.
I guess that's one of the reasons I screwed up at Uni (more on that in a future Dream Updates post).
There's also another reason to try and start now to make your big dreams come true.
You might realize, in working, that your dream was only temporary, or not what you'd expected it be in real life. The sooner you realize this, the better you'll get to know yourself and the more time you'll have to accomplish other dreams, until, one day, you find the right one.
So stop reading my blog and get a start on your dreams!!
Don't be like me and see yourself doing stuff in a few years without actually starting to work on it now and end up writing out blogs to have a good rant and making Youtube videos instead.
Want to become an author? Start writing something, right now!
Or maybe a musician? Get your instrument out and start improvising!
Maybe you want to become a doctor, but it's the Summer holidays? Read books and go interview some nearby doctors! Be ahead of everyone else! ;P
The point is, whatever your dream, there is always something you can do now to start making it come true and knowing more on the subject. The more you get into it, the more it'll feel real. The more it feels real, the better your chances of taking bigger steps very soon!
Oh, but in today's world, there's the internet. There's technology. Phones, tablets, computers,..
About two months ago, I quit social networks. I quit Facebook, Twitter, DeviantART, Instagram,.. and I felt much better for doing it.
Now, I only use Skype and Youtube. And, I have this blog, of course. But they're not as time-consuming.
I've found that I'm much more productive, now, and I find it easier to concentrate on things I'm thinking about or doing.
Today, everyone has a computer. Everyone has the internet. Everyone has Facebook, Twitter, or some other social networking profile. No one reads anymore (that includes bogs, but I'm mainly talking about books, here :D), no one creates, no one feels like working (and I'm not talking about jobs, I mean for themselves)...
Well, okay, I might be exaggerating, here. Maybe that's just France. :P #IAMJOKING
But one thing's for sure: hard work is disappearing; talent is weak or non-existant in a lot of famous artists. You really have to dig to find the good and inspirational people. And since it's the non-talented that stand out, young people think that's what real music is.
Okay, that's for the artistic field, true. But, let me tell you something. Those famous people you see everywhere? The scientists, the artists, the philosophers,.. they are US and we are THEM.
What I mean is that you could very well become one of those people!
Sadly, some people are convinced that scientists are only successful because they're naturally intelligent; that artists are successful because they were born with a talent; that philosophers were born-thinkers!
While this may be true for some, it's not true for all! Of course, there are those natural talents out there. And it can be frustrating having the same dream as someone else, but not having their skill.
But instead of moping around and feeling sorry for yourself, get to work! You're not going to become the next Michael Jackson by wishing you had his talent and crying about it!
I know it's frustrating to have to work to have good skills, when you know that others (although very few!) got their with no effort, but you haven't really got much choice if you want to make it.
You only live once and you'll realize that when you're stuck in an office in your late 30s. :'D
Well, that's it for this post! I realize it's pretty dry and straight-forward, but I figure it's necessary. Plus, I think that I'm also writing this post to myself as much as I am to you. XD
Good luck and work hard. :3

Dream Updates: Youtube, exams and... the army?!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
I've been so inactive! I'm really sorry, guys. The thing is, I'm out of ideas for posts! Please bare with me. :)
Also, I've been out seeing friends and I've also been working on my Youtube account. I've made some big changes! This video explains the new system!
Well, as you can see, I'm making the most of my holidays to see a few of my dreams come part-way true thanks to making Youtube videos! It's a great way to let out creativity!
So yeah, I would like to try and continue working on Youtube and see where that goes. I changed the way my account work to help me be more organised and so that I don't just create random videos that are really bad, like some of the more recent ones I did.
I took down those videos, of course, along with the rest, but I'll be putting some of them back online as I create my channels!
In other news, I passed some exams like three weeks ago... and I still don't have my results! It's pretty frustrating. It would be nice to know exactly what I'm going to be doing two months from now.
I'll keep you guys updated on that!
Last of all, my dad found me an awesome job!
The other night, I was in my room, and he called me. He found a job at the army which would be perfect for me (it involves languages)! That way, if I did screw up during my exams, I'mma try that out.
Actually, if I do get through Uni and finish the first three years, I could still join and automatically have a higher rank! Such logic, huh? Seeing as my course has nothing to do with army stuff. ._.
Well, that's all for now! Hope you guys are well!
Thanks to everyone who shares my blog, I truly appreciate it!
Thanks for your support!

"Any personal tips on how to make your dreams turn into reality?" Your answers here!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Sorry for making a new post so late! I had to recover when I realized my dad found this blog. Now he knows I'm "continuing at Uni because he was right". *sighs* I'll never hear the end of it. :')
I've been pretty busy with real life and my Youtube channel. There's going to be some new changes!
Here's a video explaining it:
Anyway, onto the actual subject. It's time to see the answers to the very last question I posted here!
There's still time to head over and answer some questions. I'll make another post with more answers to the various questions in a few days!
Here's the last question:
Any personal tips on how to make your dreams turn into reality?
I think it's great to learn about the experience of others to figure out where you're at yourself and what you can do! They probably learned their lesson the hard way, so heed their advice and don't f*ck up!
Chaotic Dan replied:
"Take small steps at a time, have a plan on which approach you want to take to achieving your goal, and most importantly, have self discipline and the motivation to achieve your goal, that way you won't find yourself stuck in one place with nowhere to go."
That's basically the best general answer! Motivation, organisation (with an "s" because I'm English) and stepping stones!
If you start too big, with no plans whatsoever and only money on your mind, you'll end up like Justin Bieber. And you don't want to do that. Really. Or maybe you do, I dunno, I'm not here to judge. :D
This is the only answer I got, but it was a very good one! If you'd like to give your own opinion on the matter, there's still time. I'll be making another post soon with later answers! ^^
Thanks for reading; keep on dreaming!

"In the past, have you had any other dreams you've left behind?" Your answers here!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
I seem to be losing my habit of writing a daily blog. It's getting harder, I feel like I might start repeating myself, so I've decided to tone it down a bit. :)
Of course, I'll be making more blog posts featuring comments from you guys, so don't hesitate to give your thoughts on certain things I say. ^^
Oh, and, if you'd like to answer a few of the previous questions, you can still do so here! I will make another post after having covered each individual question with any more replies that have come in since. :)
Onto our third question!
In the past, have you had any other dreams you've left behind?
I was curious to see what people had to say about this. It's always interesting to know why people sometimes let go of their dreams. Here's what I got!
Chaotic Dan replied:
"I used to dream of being a robotics engineer, due to me watching programs featuring robots and other inventions being used. But since college, i've now become focused on being a developer, it was staring me in the face all along, and only recently did I realize it."
It really is amazing when you finally realize exactly what you want to do with your life. Quite a relief, in fact!
Another amazing thing is how things that surround you, whether it be films, music, art or anything else, can lead to you wanting to do this or that. On the other hand, when that happens, ask yourself this question: is this really what I want to do, or did the influence just make it look idealistic?
Thanks for your reply, Danny!
See you guys in a few days with the next question! If you'd still like to answer a few yourself, there's still time! Just head over to this post and share your story. ^^

"Do you think you'll see your dreams come true, some day?" Your answers here!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
Time to share some more comments! If you haven't already, there' still time to answer some questions in this blog post!
So, here's what I got for the second question!
Do you think you'll see your dreams come true, some day?
I didn't get as many replies as I hoped, which is a shame, because I found this one an interesting subject to get into. Oh well. There's still time. :P
Chaotic Dan replied:
"I'm keeping faith that it will come true someday, i'm taking little steps towards it at a time, after all it helps to have had practice in the field before making the splash."
This is an excellent reply. ^^
Like I said in the previous post, Dan has proved to me that taking small steps is the key to becoming successful. You have to be very patient if you want to make something come true!
He also makes another good point here, and that's to always believe that your dream can come true someday. This kind of optimism is very important if you want to make it! I know what I'm talking about, I'm a bit of a pessimist myself, but the times when I feel optimistic about something... boy, does it feel good!
Faith is the key to motivation.
Thanks to Dan for answering this question! You were the only one who replied, but I'd like to thank you for sharing with the Community. :)
Like I said before, it's still possible to answer the questions I posted here, even those that have already been answered! I will be making a future post with some late replies after I've made a post for each question. :)
Thanks to every one of you who reads my blog, I appreciate it!

"What's your current dream/goal in life?" Your answers here!
Hi everyone! Lola here!
I'm going to start featuring some answers I got to the questions I asked in this post!
You can still answer more questions if you feel like it. :)
Okay! Let's start with the first question!
What's your current dream/goal in life?
Ian Ikeda replied:
"Possibly targeting something to do with film since I take it as a course. I'm also growing and learning more as a dj and getting into music production."
Oh, I do love it when I can relate to people! I think that it's awesome to work on films, it's an amazing experience I have yet to discover. :P
The whole film/music combination is perfect, in my opinion. They're both part of the artistic sector and would both make incredible jobs. I hope you succeed, good luck!
ChaoticDan replied:
"My current dream is to become a game developer, I have such a large backlog in my mind on ideas and concepts to make real."
Well, I've known you for a few years, now, and I think I can safely say that you always come up with brilliant ideas. You've even helped me with some of my own projects, in fact! The way you've been sticking with your dream for so long is inspirational and I'm sure you can achieve it! You've got a load of ideas to put into future games. ;)I think that if there's one thing you can prove to this world, it's that making your dreams come true requires taking many small steps. Keep it up!
Thanks to you both for replying to this question, you gave some awesome answers!
For anyone who still wishes to reply to this question, feel free to do so in the comments section, I'll make another post when I've featured answers for all the questions for any extra answers to various questions. :)
Here are the questions, if you'd like to answer a few!
