My Personal Life Dreams: Singing

Hi everyone! Lola here!

I'd like to apologize for my sudden absence. I'm recently going through resit exams and I didn't realize how much time it would take up. I'll be back properly in July, though!

I'd also like to quickly mention my latest Youtube video which explains more on my absence and my Youtube activity, if you also follow my channel. :)

Last but not least, don't forget to participate in the Dreamers Community by answering a few questions in this previous post! I'll be featuring some replies in a later blog post. ;)

Okay! Onto today's story!

Today's topic: My dream of becoming a singer... (past)

Hasn't it been almost everyone's dream to be a singer, an actor or a musician? I've had all three dreams, haha.

The Birth Of My Dream

At 8 years old, my parents bought me a small karaoke machine and I started singing.

Well, actually, I was already singing long before that. My mum always used to encourage me to sing, and I knew a lot of Italian songs by heart (my mum is Italian). I guess that's a reason why I wanted that karaoke machine.

I still have that karaoke machine. It doesn't work anymore but it's there. In my cupboard. Doing fu - ANYWAY.

I brought my karaoke machine to school one day. In each Music lesson, someone would show their musical talents. I brought along my karaoke machine when it was my turn and sang the very first song I learnt by heart after forgetting all those Italian songs from when I was a toddler: Mambo N° Five.
And I can prove that music doesn't educate because I am not polygamous, hehe.

So... years later, in France, my mum signed us both up for our first singing competitions. I once won second place, but most of the time, it was the same people who won (these were local competitions and the same people won every time). But it was all good experience. I made some good friends.

On the other hand, I haven't been in one of those in a few years now.

Actually, I mentioned this dream being a past dream, but I did just sign up for a French TV singing contest. Third time. I got rejected straight away the first two times, but it was so worth the 8 hours of queuing, haha.

Thing is, I used to dream about giving concerts but it's been a while since I last daydreamed about that kin of thing. I would still like to make songs, but more for the instrumental side which interests me more. I don't plan on trying to succeed in that field, though.

My Dream's Impact On Me Today

I still love to sing in the car and in the shower (who doesn't?) and I still make music videos on my Youtube channel. But it hasn't gone any further than that.

Any thoughts on the singing career? Would you like to succeed in singing?

  2. Singing isn't my bag. My dream has always been to be a Muppet, though my brother keeps insisting I'm already there.
