Hi everyone! Lola here!
Before I start, I invite you to head over to this post and answer a few questions. :) I will feature a few in a later post. ^^
Thank you! :D
As promised, here's my first "personal dreams" post. I will be starting with my present dreams and will then make my way down to my earliest memories of futuristic dreams! One dream per post, so this might actually even last a week or two!
Today's story: My dream of preserving nature... (present)
Bet you were expecting the acting dream first! :P
This is my most recent dream up to date. I actually already had ideas on becoming some sort of environmental activist or something, when I was in my earlier teens, but this is much better and more interesting for me, because I like to work solo...
The Birth Of My Dream
For a few years, now, something's been bugging me... a lot.
While I'm writing this, people all over the world are starving, suffering, being tortured,.. the list goes on... and same with animals... I even think animals should have the same rights as humans. Yeah, I'd go that far.
One thing that disturbs me is that I often see people telling environmentalists to stop being annoying and just shut up and get on with their meaningless lives. I think they're called... oh, what was it... oh yeah. Politicians.
I know that the world is too big to save everyone (including animals), but that's how I am. I dream big, and it can be a problem, sometimes, because I then come up with unrealistic ideas...
My Plan So Far
Using my language diploma (if I manage to get it, of course), I will save up over the years. If I do manage to make enough and become successful in this career, I will eventually buy a big piece of land somewhere in the middle of nowhere (or multiple nowheres), protect it and let nature do it's thing.
I would like to own a piece of land untouched by humans, because it's by trying to "help" nature that we make it worse. Nature isn't stupid and knows what it's doing... well... except when it made humans, of course, but let's not get into that. :')
At the moment, my parents own 4 hectares of land in the countryside. It is untouched. We don't do anything with it (mostly because my dad doesn't have the time to), but some neighbours of ours have noticed an increase in animals like deer, hares and foxes around our property. I think it's excellent that they have a place they can go without being disturbed. This is what I want, but on more terrain...
Now, this is just one possible future like another. As you can see, I don't mention a possible plan to get into acting here. I'm spacing out each dream into multiple possible realities (or not so possible, it all seems too perfect, really). By writing this out, I'm making things clearer in my own head to see just how ridiculous I sound. ;)
Of course, things are bound to not go as I plan (getting enough money, for one thing, is exceptionally hard, especially today. Heck, I might not even get my diploma!), but that's just like any kind of futuristic plan you could try and make on such a dimension.
So that was my first personal dream post!
Feel free to comment and tell me what you think. ^^
More personal dreams coming up soon! Tomorrow? Acting...
Thanks for reading; keep on dreaming!
~ Lola out!
Its a pretty reasonable dream to have by keeping the animals safe and helping them out. I know there are movements out there to keep animals protected an such, some going as far as to find alternatives to using them for food.
ReplyDeleteThe downsides of course is that trying to protect too many animals can disrupt nature itself, animals themselves pollute too and can drive plants to extincting, and unlike humans they don't give a shit about what they do, they just do what their instincts tell them to do.
My idea of a perfect animal settlement is one where Humans are not allowed to interfere with at all, no touching or recording allowed, just leaving them in peace.
Well, that's what I want to do. Buy the land and leave nature do its thing. ^^ I won't be adopting animals. Wild animals will be able to come at their leisure. :)
DeleteI don't know if there will be too many animals, but I was thinking about getting a few dogs and letting them roam free. Guard dogs, though. I was thinking Maremmas, like Snowball, because they guard well and only kill when they're being attacked. I'm hoping that'll also keep humans out. Even I won't go in there. But I'll have to find other ways to protect the land, too...
